We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Human Resource Business Partner

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time


Purpose of the Job

  • To ensure strict implementation of company Human Resource policies and provide the right mix of human resource and support services for company operations at the location.

Key Accountabilities
Industrial Relations:

  • Achieve industrial peace and harmony in the location to ensure uninterrupted flow of goods and services
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws
  • Organize union/management meetings to address stress point
  • Manage formal communication channels to ensure that grievances are nipped in the bud.
  • Manage disciplinary process to ensure consistency and fairness
  • Counsel and handle employee grievances
  • Identify potential industrial relations flash points and take pre-emptive action

Manning Levels:

  • Contribute to maintaining optimal manning levels in the brewery to check the incidence of over staffing and inefficient allocation of resources.
  • Propose in liaison with other departmental Managers, optimal manning levels for the location
  • Organize the recruitment, selection and induction of right mix of employees
  • Arrange, transfer and deployment of employee as agreed
  • Initiate and agree job descriptions/evaluation
  • Monitor and control employment of casuals
  • Discipline, appraise and motivate staff in HR department

Health Safety and Welfare:

  • Provide and maintain efficient welfare health and safety services for employees to meet the company’s goal of being employer of first choice
  • Provide quality meals at optimal cost
  • Monitor and control provision of health care services
  • Provide and maintain suitable cloakroom and laundry facilities/services
  • Provide and encourage use of recreational facilities like the Management Bar, Games Room, Football Club, etc.
  • Provide quality safety wears/uniforms
  • Organize and provide learning activities on health, safety and environment
  • Participate in Health, Safety & Environmental Committee activities
  • Share in the enforcement of use of safety wears/uniforms

Performance Management:

  • Provide performance and Career Management Guidance for management decisions to ensure that corporate expectations and personal goals are in alignment
  • Agree work plans with subordinates
  • Initiate and coordinate annual appraisal exercise in the brewery
  • Facilitate consistency checks for management appraisals in the location
  • Analyze and Communicate training needs for non-management employees
  • Facilitate and implement performance management decisions.

Compensation Management:

  • Conduct wages and benefits administration in the location consistent with company policy and statutory provisions.
  • Determine salary for new intakes
  • Implement annual merit increases
  • Implement collective bargaining agreements on salaries and fringe benefits
  • Process loans, advances, bonuses, terminal benefits etc
  • Administer free company product issues
  • Ensure that all statutory registrations are carried out (National Housing Fund, National Social Insurance and Trust Fund,the company's Pension Fund)
  • Facilitate PAYE Income Tax Returns

Guest House Management:

  • Administer company guesthouses effectively and efficiently so that third party facilities are considered as a last resort
  • Ensure company chalets are always in good condition
  • Provide cost effective catering and laundry services for guests
  • Ensure guests pay for services rendered and ensure budget discipline

Pool Vehicle Administration:

  • Administer company’s pool of service vehicles in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ensure pool has full complement of vehicles
  • Ensure vehicles are always in good serviceable state
  • Provide for use of internal customers
  • Ensure vehicles are replaced when due and returns made to Head
  • Office for disposal of boarded vehicles.

Management Responsibility:

  • Control departmental budget to ensure that services are provided within approved resources
  • Prepare and defend departmental budget for clinic, canteen and other services
  • Attend monthly accounts meetings to discuss expenses/variances
  • Propose, defend and implement CEM/REM items
  • Provide and maintain internal communication

Contract Staff Administration:

  • Oversee contract staff administration in the location so that the recruitment and selection of third-party employees meet company expectations
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of contract staff
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with company policy on contract staff recruitment, general welfare and administration.

Communication and General Services:

  • Provide internal and external communication and other services for the location to enhance information flow, quality of decision taking and general well – being of the location.
  • Provide inter-brewery and overseas courier service
  • Manage radio communication
  • Provide receptionist and internal messenger services
  • Manage telecommunication and postal services
  • Manage the central photocopy and duplicating facilities in the location
  • Arrange prompt sale and evacuation of scrapped sundry items.

Requirements

  • Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper. A second class lower must possess a Masters degree or equivalent
  • Field of Education: Business or Social Sciences
  • Experience: 6 Years
