Job Summary


  • This role is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient management of employees as well as satisfaction of all staff employed in the various departments and units of Reliable Steel and Plastic Industries Limited from entry until exit. Attract and retain qualified and motivated staff in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure that the recruited staff remain ‘fit for purpose’ throughout the duration of their tenure in the organization, work with supervisors to ensure equity and equal opportunity in the workplace, provide competitive and desirable compensation and benefit packages for all staff, provide upward mobility and career advancement opportunities based on merit and job performance, provide and coordinate training and development programmes that will enhance and  improve the performance of staff, processes and the organization as a whole, implement an effective Performance Management Process as well as clear demonstration of its culture in the workplace, providing supervision and direction to Human Resources & Administration employees as well as streamline processes for operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition and Management: Recruitment and selection process administration, Onboarding of new staff, Effective headcount management, Provide guidance and input on business unit restructure, workforce planning and succession planning. Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow- up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Provide input for the development of the company budget and monitor departmental utilization. Payroll Administration, Implementation of a welfare and benefits package
  • Employee Relations: Implementation of employee wellbeing initiatives, Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation, Maintain and update policy manuals as well as employee handbooks as needed. In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required, manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • HR Administration: Employee file and data management – creation, maintenance and storage of records, Effective HR Reporting for Business Decision: Tracking & Reporting of monthly leave utilization Reports, Tracking and monitoring of all statutory requirements to ensure they are done within SLA – Tax and pension remittance, ITF, registration of all staff on GLI, Medical Scheme, Liaise with appropriate agencies and bodies to ensure smooth relationship between the company, the communities and the Government.
  • Learning and Development: Managing skills enhancement and professional development programmes within the allocated budget, Managing the design and delivery of training programmes in accordance with the needs of the Company, Evaluating the effectiveness of all trainings and L&D activities to identify areas of improved performance and to feed into future plans, Providing reports to management identifying Learning & Development trends and return on investment analyses.
  • Business Partnering and Organizational Development (Performance Management, and Engagement): Conduct monthly meetings with respective business units, Consult with line management providing HR guidance when appropriate.HR metrics measurement, monitoring and tracking, Implement Culture Change processes, Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention, Conduct the Performance Management process within group of assigned responsibility, Collect ongoing information regarding satisfaction of employee on salary packages and wage, working conditions etc., Implementation of tactical plans targeted at improving employee performance and engagement

Management and Supervisory:

  • Checks on team throughout the day to be sure that any issues with working tools, personnel, safety, etc. are addressed promptly.
  • Coaches and develops staff, while fostering a team atmosphere. Provides pep talks as needed and coaching for any performance issues.
  • Assists employees with questions or problems they have regarding work assignments, priorities, safety, personnel issues, etc.
  • Counsels employees when necessary and apply personnel actions as disciplinary action, transfer, promotion, termination of employment, etc. Documents any issues, counseling efforts, etc.
  • Oversees training and orientation of new employees and offers additional training as needed. Offers re-training when necessary. Sets up and maintains cross training, as applicable.
  • Control and organize timesheets for HR & Admin personnel
  • Identify issues of inefficiency, suggest and take action on improvement
  • Review goals of sales team daily and identify root cause of goal was not obtained
  • Serves as a role model to all employees. Conducts oneself professionally and abides by Company safety & personnel policies, SOPs, etc.
  • Analyze budgets and continuously control HR & Admin cost and identify/rectify waste measures.
  • Check HR & Admin output according to expectation and submit report on performance and progress
  • Conduct safety and orientation training with new employees
  • Set Performance expectation and target as well as  review all HR & Admin employees’ performance
  • Conduct monthly performance appraisals for all HR & Admin employees and communicate information to Executive Management.

The Person

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years experience in Human Recourses Management and Administration.
  • Experience in management.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and report writing.
  • The ability to develop and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Human Capital Management and Business Partnering.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent supervision, business presentation, skills, Organization and leadership abilities, Self-motivated with a result driven approach, Problem- solving skill

Working Conditions

  • The Head of Human Resources and Administration is required to sit for extended periods of time and operate a computer which requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
  • The person must also be physically able to participate in factory rounds, travel long trips by road or air, meetings, presentations and training sessions that require constant talking and listening.
