Job Position: Commercial Finance Associate

Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Responsibilities

  • Providing financial support and analysis to the Products and other divisions, including cost analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Collaborating with operational teams to understand and support business initiatives, and ensuring financial decisions align with overall company strategy.
  • Developing and implementing financial reporting and metrics to provide insight into business performance.
  • Providing financial analysis for new business opportunities, including investment analysis and business cases.
  • Supporting the preparation of financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collecting, compiling, and analyzing financial and operational data to support decision-making.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of assigned business areas, including revenue, margins, and return on investment.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Continuously reviewing and improving financial processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work with Business Unit heads to build their annual budgets and forecasts
  • Prepares Plans, Updates, and Monthly Reporting that meet timing and quality of presentation requirements, facilitating management review and decision-making while ensuring the integrity of the data and compliance with IFRS as well as the client’s company operating policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance related from a recognized Institution.
  • Certified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • 5+ years of work experience in Financial, Statutory, and Regulatory Reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Financial Accounting and other aspects of accounting in general
  • In-depth knowledge of Performance Management, Business Units and Product Profitability Reporting.
  • Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, PDF,
  • PowerPoint, Outlook etc. Must be able to use simple accounting applications such as Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Good Knowledge of Investment applications
  • Ability to build accounts from Trial Balance to Final account with notes
  • Ability to understand Investment transactions and give appropriate accounting interpretation as required by various laws & standards
  • Good Knowledge of relevant Accounting standards i.e. IFRS, IAS etc.
  • Must have an eye for details and be very observant of hidden issues inside numbers.
  • Ability to think out of the box
  • Ability to interpret financial reports and gain meaningful insight into it
  • Ability to develop excel spreadsheet financial models for various finance reports.
  • Ability to learn and be up to speed on new accounting trends and standards.
  • Ability to investigate and correct outliers and irregularities in trends of key financial numbers in the books of accounts.
