Cedarcrest Hospitals Limited was founded in Abuja in January, 2008. The hospital started as a mono specialty centre and was formerly known as Cedarcrest Orthopaedic Clinics Ltd. Within a few years the hospital expanded its scope of services and has become a leading private multispecialty hospital. The core vision of the organisation is to provide world class specialist healthcare services to patients in Nigeria and the West African sub region.


Cedarcrest Hospitals Ltd currently has four hospitals located in Abuja, Lagos, Kainji and Jebba having over one hundred (100) bed capacity without patient camps in several other cities across Nigeria. Our services and facilities span several specialities and include emergency / trauma centre, radiology diagnostic centre, prosthetic manufacturing plant, oxygen manufacturing plant, modular surgical operating theatres, gastrointestinal endoscopy suite and several other facilities that make for a modern multispecialty hospital.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Recruitment and Training Specialist

Job Location: Abuja
Employment type: Locum & Full-time

Purpose of the Role

  • As a Recruitment and Training Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating the end-to-end recruitment and training processes within Cedarcrest Hospitals Ltd.
  • You will collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, source and attract qualified candidates, and oversee the training and development programs for new and existing employees.
  • This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of recruitment strategies, and the ability to create and deliver effective training programs.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment:

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop comprehensive job descriptions.
  • Source potential candidates through various channels, including online job boards, social media, professional networks, and direct sourcing.
  • Conduct reference checks and background screenings for selected candidates.
  • Extend job offers and negotiate terms of employment.
  • Review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and interview candidates to assess their qualifications and fit for the organization.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and facilitate the selection process.
  • Maintain and update recruitment databases and candidate records.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training and development needs through assessments, performance reviews, and discussions with managers and employees.
  • Design and develop training programs, including orientation programs for new hires and ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as necessary.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching or additional training when needed.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and update training materials, presentations, and online resources.
  • Deliver training sessions using a variety of methods, including in-person workshops, virtual sessions, and e-learning platforms.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in recruitment and training.

Onboarding:

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with company policies, procedures, and culture.
  • Facilitate introductions and networking opportunities for new employees.
  • Provide support and guidance to new employees throughout the onboarding period.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to recruitment, training, and employee development.
  • Generate regular reports on recruitment and training activities, including key metrics and insights.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.

Hierarchy:

  • This role reports to the Human Resource Manager.

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Recruitment Specialist, Talent Acquisition Specialist, or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of recruitment strategies and best practices.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with hiring managers, candidates, and employees.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other HR software.
  • Strong interviewing and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • HR certification (e.g CIPM) is a plus.

2.) Paramedic

Job Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full Time
Hierarchy: This role reports to the Head of Emergency.

Purpose of the Role

  • The medical emergency technician (Paramedic), will provide specialized care and treatment to patients who have been involved in accidents, emergencies or other crises.
  • You will be the first healthcare professional to arrive at the scene of an emergency or on the premises where your services have been requested.

Key Performance Areas

  • Responding to emergency calls
  • Assessing patients, providing emergency treatment and making essential assessments
  • Monitoring and administering medication, pain relief and intravenous infusions
  • Dressing wounds/injuries
  • Using specialized equipment including ventilators and defibrillators
  • Responsible for the cleanliness, suitability and operational upkeep of the allocated vehicle
  • Communicating effectively and demonstration with patients and their relatives/friends
  • Transporting patients to hospital and continuing to provide treatment while in transit
  • Providing hospital staff with structured patient information including clinical condition and treatment
  • Helping provide patient care in hospitals and other medical facilities
  • Teaching and training members of the public to use first aid techniques correctly
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required.

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

  • HND EMT - Paramedics Degree or any related field
  • Ambulance work experience.

3.) Perioperative Nurse

Job Location: Lagos
Employment type: Locum & Full-time

The Role

  • Reporting to the Nursing Services Manager, the Perioperative Nurse will be responsible for providing patient care. The incumbent is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive before, during and after surgery.
  • The Perioperative Nurse organizes activities related to the completion of nursing care by other healthcare team members. Observe breaches in surgical asepsis, as well as coordinate the needs of the surgical team.
  • The incumbent coordinates the overall nursing care in the operating room to help maintain a safe and comfortable environment. These activities include serving as a scrub nurse, selecting and passing instruments and supplies used for the operation.
  • The incumbent ensures patient assessment, pre- and post-operative patient education. The incumbent monitors the patient's physical and emotional well-being, integrating and coordinating patient care throughout the surgical care continuum.
  • The responsibilities also includes providing aid in exposure, homeostasis, closure, and other intraoperative functions to ensure all surgical procedures go smoothly

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients prior to surgery and alleviate their concerns
  • Gather all supplies needed for the operation
  • Assume responsibility of keeping the operating room sterilized
  • Giving directions on proper handling of materials and tools
  • Reviewing preoperative assessments with patients, and managing activities in the operating room
  • Evaluate patient in postoperative phases
  • Position and prepare patient on operating table
  • Organizes activities related to the completion of nursing care by other healthcare team members, observe breaches in surgical asepsis
  • Pass medical instruments or other objects to the surgeon during operation
  • Monitor patient's vital signs to detect anomalies
  • Adhere to safety standards and precautions
  • Assume duties within or out of the sterile field as assigned

Qualifications

  • RN and RPON
  • 1-3 years of relevant working experience
  • BSN Preferred
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Professional, friendly attitude.
  • Experience in emergency room or intensive care
